Off again on another Viking river journey. This time along the Danube from Passau, Germany to Budapest with lots of exciting stops along the way. This time we’re joining my younger bro, Steve (I know, he does look older) and sis-in-law, Arlene. We’re all flying to Prague first for three nights (2 1/2 days) to explore its authentic past…and noteworthy present.
We’ll make our way southwest to Passau, one of Bavaria’s oldest cities, where we’ll board the Viking Embla and spend two days exploring “The City of Three Rivers” before heading for Linz, Krems, and Vienna, Austria. From there to Bratislava in Slovakia, and ending in Budapest, Hungary (to check on its new “democracy”).
We leave on May 27th from Philadelphia, so you’ve got some time to finish packing. And, as always, please comment to let us know if you have any special recommendations for us, whether you’ve been there yourselves or from other sources. We can’t wait for you to join us!

Bon voyage!!
Hugs, Binnie
It’s funny, as I was just wondering about you guys as I hadn’t seen any postings from you… And this one came. We are in Copenhagan right now and going to the Eastern Danube in October. Your posting are so vivid and I wish either Frank or I took the time to send out something as well versed as yours. Thanks, Sue and Frank
Hi, folks! Donna and I wish you a safe and happy journey, and we are planning to take a river cruise in the very near future similar to this. We are going to assume that you would have no reservations in suggesting one of these to anyone who wants to tour a bunch of European cities in this fashion?
Sorry, just saw this comment and forgot to approve it!? Hope you guys are doing well. Yes, a really good way to do a journey for when you are tired of the stress and time it takes to create your own! Let us know when you if you need any candid comments on this type of travel. Be well!
I think you two would love the Mucha Musuem: https://www.mucha.cz/en
Many years ago I spent a week in Prague (with a friend). I planned our trip. We fell in love with Prague before it was “discovered”! It’s probably changed but be prepared to fall in love! Call me if you want my tips. Love, Rhoda
