We’re here…

Yes, that is a Dale Chihuly in the Hilton in Deli

…and we’ve started the incredible roller coaster ride that is India. It is, really, like nothing we’ve ever experienced before. Only two and a half days and we’ve already found emotions ranging from tears to shear joy, colors from dusty brown to marigold yellow and fire red, and delicious tastes from sublime to ethereal.

The only problem is time. There is just not enough. We’ve been taking copious notes and lots of photos, but the days have been so full that this is the first time we’ve been able to sit down and write to you. Plus the internet services have not been readily available and very expensive. We’ve already reveled in Delhi and are just in Jaipur at 10 PM.

There is no way we’re going to be able to keep up and really do this trip justice. So, we’re going to try to give you a few photos each time and just a bit of description to whet your appetite. In the meantime we’ll be transcribing our notes with a lot more detail — and will post as we can and probably mostly after we’re back. You can decide to wade through those as you wish. In the meantime, we’ve got to get to bed for a 6 am wake up tomorrow.

Off to Delhi (not the Carnegie)

Sunday Afternoon….

The reality is starting to set in as the organizing and packing begin in earnest. We’re figuring 24 hours elapsed time from Bordentown to Delhi tomorrow, 14.5 of those hours in the coach cabin of Air India. Let there be a Yogi aboard…ooohhhhmmmm! Or as Marsha would prefer; a Xanex.

We’re really excited, especially after some of the good ideas and tips we’ve received from those of you who have made the trip before. If anyone else has any, please send them on.

This is a test post to make sure the netbook and connections are working, but it’s also a thank you for joining with us.

Namaste!
